Skindred // Leeds

Skindred // Leeds Beckett SU // Leeds
Ragga-metal from Wales. On their album release tour for You Got This. Hopefully it goes to number one!
After the show, Jess managed to fight her way to the barrier and convinced a roadie to give her a setlist. Classic!

Cath and Chris in York
Cath and Chris came across to York and the weather was lovely so we went for a few beers, followed by an Indian.
The following morning, we walked down the river and through Rowntree Park. We saw little waterhen chicks and a swan sat on her nest. We had a lovely time with them!

PRESIDENT // Leeds

PRESIDENT // Project House // Leeds
Well done Jess for pushing us though the crowd to this spot… even if James did feel a little awkward for blocking people’s view just before PRESIDENT came on stage.
It was a great gig! Our only complaint was that they don’t have enough songs yet, so the set was quite short. It was nice being home before 11pm though.

New art for our music station
We picked up some art by Anastasia Smith (@haus_of_dachshund_art) from her stand at a local makers market. She uses pressed flowers (that she grew herself) and it’s perfect for our little music station.

Easter lunch
Today we had a lovely lunch at an Italian restaurant we must have walked past a hundred times. This time we were both hungry and decided to give it a try.
We’re trying to get better at being spontaneous, as usually Jess spends too much time deciding where to go. Turns out not everything needs to be researched to death!

We’re trying so hard to not eat chocolate at the moment. I think it’s especially hard with Easter around the corner. All we want is a White Chocolate Creme Egg.
Edit: Easter made us eat way too much chocolate!
-
Connor’s birthday pub crawl
We had a lovely day in Harrogate for Connor’s birthday pub crawl. Funnily enough, this is one of the only group photos we got and he’s not even in it!

Hilary Duff
James heard on a podcast how good the new Hilary Duff album is and recommended it to Jess. She’s been listening to Weather for Tennis and Future Tripping on repeat all week.

James’s blood on Jess’s will
We had some documents signed and witnessed. I got a paper cut when taking them out my bag. There’s now some of my blood on Jess’s “Last Will and Testament”. I think that means one of us is cursed.

Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook’s Monument
Had a really lovely walk up Roseberry Topping and over to Captain Cook’s Monument today. Definitely want to plan more days like this.

Valentine’s Day
We spent Valentine’s Day doing some cute creative things together and finally started making collages (something we’ve been meaning to try for a while). Cutting pictures out of old magazines is weirdly satisfying... so now we’re fully on the hunt for more magazines. We might share some completed collages here soon!

Skipton with Mum
Me and Mum headed to Skipton to meet up with her friend, Rach. It started raining just after Mum bought a flower pot, so naturally I held it over my head like an umbrella.

Castle Howard
We visited Castle Howard for York Resident's weekend. It was chilly but the sun was shining! Jess got very excited about Arctic Monkeys and Bridgerton, but mostly Arctic Monkeys.

-
listening to music
James asked me to put some music on. He said if he didn’t like my choice he would ask me to choose again. I went with Fearless by Taylor Swift and he’s singing along to the ones he knows. It makes me happy.

Colour Photo Walk
We've become a bit uninspired with photography in York lately, that's probably what 8 years of living here will do to you! We decided to try out something Jess had seen online which is selecting a colour and taking photos of only that.
Jess randomly selected orange:
Lucky for him, James got pink but he took his photos on our Instax (and is yet to scan them).

Seeing Cath and Chris at Christmas

Seeing Snoddys at xmas
We met up with Ed, Harriet and Aurora while they were up in Harrogate for Christmas. We got a table at Tilly Peppers and went for a wander into town. It was lovely to seem them and she is growing up super fast!
